Fender Joining panel

I purchased the Restoration Design fender joining panel a while back. I'm to the point of placing and attaching the panel. I searched around here for a "how to" but didn't find anything. So, I read up on other posts and came up with a game plan.

Before:

Current: So I've fixed up the fender well metal and replaced the bottom half of the door hinge panel. I've since finished welding the rest of those spot welds::

Now I'm on to replacing the fender joining panel:

I mounted the panel to the fender. Then I mounted the fender to the car and roughly aligned the fender to the hood and window jamb area. Then I scribed the location of the panel as it sat in the wheel well. I removed the panel from the fender and afixed it to the wheel well with 4 temporary metal screws. Now fixed more firmly, I remounted the fender to double check and everything still aligned OK.

So the panel and fender are prepped with weld through primer. I need to drill some holes along the panel for faux mig spot welding and I'm ready to weld:

Looks good, I need to do this repair as well. Were you happy with the fit of the replacement panel?

Yes, the panel fit well. I hope the rockers fit as well as this panel.
