914 engine hood removal

I have been looking at it and it isn't jumping out at me! How do I get this vented hood off the car? It looks complicated, do I have to mess with those springs?

The springs on the engine cover isn't bad at all. Just undo the bolts at the firewall. The springs on the trunk will ruin your day on the otherhand.
