Thick paint
I think this Dinan M3 may have been repainted... and repainted... and repainted. This is like telling the age of a tree by it's rings. Primer/ sealer, white base, yellow base, then clear but just many times over.

Nope, we added another layer. This car gets a new quarter every few months anyway if we're lucky. What the picture shows is after I sanded out a rock chip. This car and it's three sisters is the reason my boss bought a Celette bench.

why is the cars getting new QTR's every few months ?
if the celette system is new to him he will love it ! we have 6 of there benches and on drive on . we hardly ever use the drive on bench any more . one thing i don't like about celette is that after 10 years they stop offering jigs for older cars . so i'm on there list when it comes to buying the old jigs . the good thing is you can't under pull or over pull a car if it does not sit in the jig it's not right . |

![]() Yeah, I guess I was being a bit coy. The shop I work for does collision work, race car repair for a couple of teams and restoration work.

We got the Celette last summer. Like you, the drive on doesn't see any action anymore except just to park on. My boss as a few kits for the bench now but is looking for used kits to expand. For now we rent what we don't have. Only having one bench is hard it seems. Race cars are quick but a restoration project sitting on one would be a pain during the race season. I'm not to the point where I get to use the bench yet as I'm still learning the business. The body business is my latest reinvention of myself. So far it's been pretty interesting. I never knew how much I didn't know.

It shouldn't be that way now as the owner of my shop is doing most of the real work or at the least has his hands in it. The drivers seem to be getting better too as we're doing fewer spares it seems.
