undercoat gun question

I bought a spray gun for spraying the wurth undercoating used on the early cars.

It worked for the first tube and when I tried it a second time I can't get it to spray.

I cleaned it but am wondering if I am missing a pc off the nozzle, there seems to be a thread on the inside of the nozzle. Did I misplace something or is it something else I'm doing wrong,

Anyone have one of these can give me some advise.

Thanks

Yes - there is a piece missing. There is a small 'nozzle' that screws into that thread.

You can sort of make out what it looks like from this pic. I'd check the area where you cleaned the gun after it was working OK.

I've got a very similar one, actually I used about 3 in a few months!

They will still spray fluid out without the nozzle, albeit not as well.

If you are getting no fluid it is blocked - soaking in solvent will clear (but can damage it, wouldn't worry about that on this though).

If you get fluid and a poor spray pattern then you'll need to find the nozzle.

Even the budget manufacturers can be reasonable if you need to order one. Personally I'd not waste time buy a new one!

These are a nightmare to clean you really need to put the pick up tube in a tub of solvent / thinners and spray till its clear out the exit end!
