Paint Question
When did Porsche start using clearcoats? I have a 1984 Carrera cab that has original paint in great condition that doesn't have a clearcoat. What kind of paint does this car have? How would I get the rubber trim at the front on the bumper to lay flat? Thanks Gord.

My 84 has clear coat. You need to replace the "smile" and then keep it conditioned so it doesn't dry out.

The bubbling smile is rust, there's metal bonded in there.
In '84 Porsche clear coated all there cars. I have a good one if you want it cheap.
