My NJ shop (PowerTech) recommends D J's Auto Body in Morristown (973-538-7207). I paid them a visit last year; 911 experience and definitely a contender when I'm ready to respray my '81 SC—hopefully later this year...

There is an autobody shop in Northvale NJ that has a really good guy running it named Drew. I would recommend them. If you are interested, you can send me a PM and I'll tell you more information. It is Bergen County so it may be geographically undesirable.

They have a real paint both and some very skill workers.

Thanks for the heads up...

talked to Drew today (Northvale Shop)... he only does collision repairs. But he gave me a promising shop in Englewood, but he is booked till spring as well. . He is going to stop by my house and check out my car for a quote. Nice!

RedRidge,

Sorry to hear about that. I didn't know they stopped doing restos. I know it wasn't common but thought they still did it from time to time. Again, sorry to mislead. I hope englewood works out.

painter

Walo's Auto Body
13 East Garden Place
Pompton Plains, NJ 07444
Phone: (973) 831-4446

Walo's did a fellow pcaer's turbo speedster; it looks gorgeous and I know the car owner is meticulous. He owns several Porsches at any given time and any he has had painted are top concours winners nationally. Know DJ and he's talented and would do a good job, just don't haggle, quality goes down. Most important thing here in getting a good job is set the expectation and to do that you need to know what you want, a 'good paint job' is a bit lacking in definition. If you want a driver quality job, request it; same if you want concours. Most of these guys will deliver the goods, but it's all about the prep and how much you are willing to pay.

Another fellow in the Manville area is Willi @ 908-400-0009. He moonlights but is cool with the shop owner, Niro's Auto Body. Looks to be a very talented fellow as well.

I hd 'Final Touch' in west new york, NJ do some work on my daily driver, and their attention to detail and quality of work was commendable. The owner is a Porsche enthusiast, I would call over there and ask if he would take on the project.
