Body question..Cross posted from 944 forum

I have had my car for 12 to 13 years now. It needs some body work but in addition to that I have had a fender bender that at the time was not too bad.. However, I have determined that the drivers side is pushed down about 1/2 inch and it is pushed back maybe an inch..Before I do the body work (since I am on a budget) Is there anyone in the so calif area who knows how to correct this problem (All the adult beverages and all the pizza you can eat or cash) and who has the tools, or is there a shop you can refer me to in the Santa Ana/Orange area that is not pricey but can get the job done properly? If you respond, please leave your phone number or email in a PM to me.. Thanks..

as you know your car needs to be pulled on a frame bench .
the down side is porsche's don't realy like the drive on type of benches . the 944 body does have a little pinch weld on the under side of the rockers to put the clamps on to hold the car as you do the pull but they are not that strong and you could end up putting kinks in the rockers from doing so .
all porsches are only designed to put the cars on celette benches and that could get a little pricey because the suspension would need to get pulled out of the car to bench it on a celette .
i have a 951 sitting out in the parking lot right now with a hit that sounds to be about the same as your car that the insurance CO. has totaled the car .
so the cars owner has found another 951 with a motor that is no good in it and for the 14 to 16 hours labor we are going to just swap in the motor from his totaled 951 .
i have done the same thing on two of the 944 chassis cars i have my self .
if you really think about what you can pick up a 944 with a blown motor for there cheap . last year to replace the totaled 1985 early chassis track loaner 944 i found a 1984 for 650 dollars . for my 1986 944 i found a roller for that with a interior that was in better shape and the body about the same for 900 dollars and unknown to me or the PO it had a LSD trans that i swapped out into the track loaner .
so it might be some thing to just think about rather than repairing a car with a damaged chassis .

I somewhat assumed that what you stated was true.. Thanks. My top end is being refreshed right now so getting a roller may be the best way..
