Interior floor coating

I'm stripping the interior out of my 84 Carrera getting ready for new carpet and noticed that some of the hard black coating on the floor is chipping off in several areas. I thought that I would remove the rest of it and replace it with a new coating but I can't find any information on what the coating is. Has anyone had any luck with any particular product?

Thanks

Todd

sem rust-shield is what you would want to use for that .
if you mix the flat black rust-shield with the rust-shield hardener 8 parts black to 1 part hardener it wil be the same gloss as the oe porsche coating .
you can roll or spray the rust shield . if you roll it with a 3 " foam roller you will get a peal to the finish were if you spray it the rust shield will lay down like glass . if your putting the carpet back in you can just roll it as then you don't have to mask off every thing .
i like the SEM more than products like POR as it's half the cost and a better product all around . it drys faster and if you want to top coat it with a body color you can also do that were pro will tend to want to lift even if you recoat it with it's self .

Thanks very much for the quick advice. I found a retailer of SEM products close by. I going to check it out this week. Thanks again.
