Radio dash panel replacement
Does anyone have a template to re-cut the radio holes in the dash?
I foolishly cut my dash to hold a CD player 15 years ago and now I'm restoring the car to original and I will be welding in a replacement panel to the dash and I need a template to cut the holes. Preferably a template with the ash tray included so the spacing and position will be correct. If anyone has some direction on this I'd appreciate it! Thanks, Jeremy |
Jeremy,
While I am not positive I think the year of the car is important. There may have been a change in the radio cut out over the years as the radio chassis changed. That being said I have a 74. I could take measurements for you if that helps? |
Oh! I totally forgot to include the key information. DOH!
It's a 1968 912 |
I'll try to remember to trace one for you. I'm working on a '68 912 targa right now. I just can't recall if the dash is in the shop or out at the mechanic's garage.

However, I think I was getting a little ahead of myself when I posted. I'm just going to weld in a blank panel to the dash and then once I get the new trim kit I can just trace that on to the blank dash face and cut it out in place. Thanks anyway! Sorry for the trouble! |
Just in case if you need small piece of dash i dismantled couples 68 might have it just pm me .
