complete 911 pan replacement advice
I need some advice on how to approach the installation of a new pan in my 1968 911. The factory pan comes with the lateral tank supports already welded on. As you may be able to see from the pics, the lateral tank supports protrude wider than the "arch" structure such that you cannot simply raise the pan into place. As it is all welded up from the factory, I don't want to cut off these pieces just to weld them back on - unless there is some other trick. I recognize that the new pan will need some areas "backdated" such as the fitment with the inner fenders etc. but this problem is far bigger. Thanks in advance!
