Original muffler with dent

Is there any way of removing a dent from my original muffler? Can it be pulled out? It's about 8 inches long at the bottom beneath the mounting straps. Also, the exhaust tip seems to be welded on. Was this a factory thing?

We used to get dents out of dirtbike exhaust by: plugging the inlets/outlets, except for one, and using a bicycle tube valve, (use a radiator clamp to hold the rubber on under pressure) fill the muffler with air and heat up the dented area with a torch. Go slow, because the added pressure makes it come out fast!!! Good luck.

Most body shops have a tool that first spot welds small rods in the dented area; the dent is pulled and the rods ground off.

Thanks for the replies. I've heard of the welded rod procedure but thought it might destroy the part code. I just might take a stab at the air pressure method. I'll post the outcome.
