Paint Stripping Discs
Those paint stripping discs you mount in an angle grinder (as below) - do you think they could be used carefully to strip an entire car or would the heat inevitably warp the panels? I figure they're designed for stripping paint and to minimize heat build-up, so are they really much worse at building heat than a D/A sander? I guess a D/A spins a lot more slowly... Thoughts?

they work ok for that as you know you have to keep moving with them not to build to much heat .
I personally like the orange stripper disc much better . they last longer and of you catch the edge of the disc unlike the black discs the will not fly apart . if you need to machine strip a car use a old time DA sander set to the grind mode with 80 grit paper . it will cost much less then stripper wheels and you will not get the same heat build up as you would with a stripper disc . buy cheap ass sand paper as you will go thru it kind of quickly . Lehigh valley abrasives . com has very good prices on da paper . I buy allot of my abrasives from them in bulk . a 100 sheets of 6" DA paper is like 29 dollars . I also buy all my cut off wheels ,grinding discs and so on from them on a monthly stock order for my shop . shipping is quick and they have good pricing on every thing .
