Has anyone used carpet cleaning machines to clean interior carpets
Hello everyone,
I am thinking about pulling out my interior carpets and do a complete cleaning using the carpet cleaning systems with hand tool attachments that you can rent at the local grocery supermarkets. Before I do, I am interested in knowing if any of you have done this and should I pull out the carpets or leave them in the car when I clean them?. Thanks. |

Just a couple of weeks ago I cleaned my Jeep Cherokee's carpets using the hand attachments from our carpet cleaner...Bissel or Hoover can't remember which. Worked great.
I actually used one of those yard chemical sprayers with the wand that you pump up to apply the cleaning solutions. Worked real good. You just don't want to get things to wet. Jeep carpets might be a little more rugged than Porsche carpets.... |

not sure about the ones you rent at the supermarket, but the shampoo machine in the detail shop I work at did my carpets nicely. Of course, they're black, so... The machines won't take out serious stains though, you might have to use some serious chemicals for that stuff.

Rugged cleaning :)
A little thought for you.
I am from uk but I bet the principle is the same in the U.S of A. My local store hires out the machines mentioned for about £30 British pounds. Stain remover & extra chemicals cost another £5. Now this is the best bit. I had the interior valeted at a cost of £40 British pounds. He did the floor, roof, leather...... everything. So for an extra £5 I had the pleasure of having a nice cup of tea while he did a much better job than I could have. Worth thinking about isn't it ![]() Keep motoring, Simon. P.S Its raining like anything this side of the pond today. ![]() |
