1974 911 color code

Color tag reads P-999 on paint ID emblem. COA says Bitter Chocolate. I can't find any evidence of brown on the car. What is the color for P-999?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1415725388.jpg

999 indicates special order. I think the paint Code for Bitter Chocolate (Cockney) was 408.

you do know that is not the color code plate that came with the car right ?
the 1st red flag is the way it's stamped then the size of the numbers and the font is wrong .
the 9's are not shaped that way it's close but not close enough .
over the 30 plus years I have owned a resto shop and the amount of porsches we have done we have come across allot of fake 999 tags . so have been done really well and others not so much .
they are not hard to do blank tags are ez to get and cheap the rivets are also cheap and about 12 cents each .

now add in that bitter chocolate is a standard color used from 1974 to 1981 would also add to the fact that it in no way would be a 999 color for the year of your car .

people do dumb ass things like this for many reasons the 1st is to try and fool others in thinking that is some special color . the other is for resale a person buying a car thinking they are getting
a car with a rare color may tend to pay more for a car that is not in any way worth more .

with out a vin number I would have no way to be 100% sure it's a fake tag but my guess is that it is . I'm 99.9 % sure about it
