Color mystery

On my 1973 911T the color code stamped in is 117 = light yellow
The Porsche certificate says light yellow /62
Cant find code 62 ?
And on the dash plaque it says Carrera yellow

Greetings, Harold

it's not Carrera yellow if it was then the car really would have been built for some one special .
the dash plaque is BS not put there from Porsche some one made it up .

the code 62 , 62 62 , 062 or 117 light yellow or Hellgelb
used from 1972 to 1977 as a standard production color for the years stated .
do not quote the years used as the info is off the top of my head .

the German translation of Hellgelb to English is light yellow so both names get used for all the codes listed as the names are one and the same .

when most see the color code with just 2 digits don't know to put a 0 or L in front of it .
the L would stand for Lackieren = paint .
only in the Porsche factory code books do you only have two digits they are not shown that way to the public but in COA's as it's right from Porsche .
that is why you could not find the code 62 .

all 3 color formulas for the 3 codes are the same tint for tint .

most early cars in this color came to the US with the code 117 most later they came with 062 or 62 62 .
62 62 is not 6262 but really just 62 as the space between the 62 and the 62 tends to screw every one up even with other color codes laid out in that way .

Kunstharz = resin / paint

any questions ?
