Rocker/Sill panel drain holes

Hi all hope someone can help!

I'm restoring a rather special 73 car, the original rocker/sill panels had been removed before I got to it. the replacement panels have oblong drain holes along the bottom, which kind of correspond to the oil pipe fixings on the R/H side.
Thing is I'm sure it should have small half round drain holes, I have a 71 car with half round, a 75 with oblong and a 77 with half round!
If it should have half round holes how would these correspond with the oil pipe mounts that are spot welded to the inner panel, does the outer rocker spot weld over them?
I would love to see some pictures of unrestored cars if possible, after hours of internet searching I have not been able to answer this!
Thanks in advance!!

I don't have any pictures of an unrestored '73 rocker panels, but can share some pictures of my '73 RSR project of the rocker installation. My rockers have the oblong holes over the oil pipe mounts. I bought the rockers years ago from Porsche and specified 1973 vintage, but they were superseded to a later part number 911.503.401.04 and 402.04 for LH and RH respectively. The later rockers had large holes that got covered by the rocker trim. I don't plan on installing this trim, so I welded up these holes.

Here are some pics of my spot welding the rockers onto the inner panels. BTW, I decided to weld on some pipe mounts to the left side as well. My thinking is to install a cooler up front for the transmission oil. A friend has a couple '75s maybe I can go look at those rockers.

Abisel nice welding and spot welding. Would like to see more of your project. Have you posted the project if so any links. Graham I believe the larger openings are for brackets and the smaller oblong are for draining.

Sorry for the thread jack, but...

Do you know how the rear quarter was finished at the rocker joint? I see the small lip where the two parts meet but dont see any seem on my '81 or '87... Is this joint tinned from the factory?
