Hello Everyone,
I bought a 72T about 1.5 years ago that was converted to a turbo body style short hood and had no engine, tranny or bumpers. It had rust and all kinds of metal issues, which are now repaired
I bought new metal panels put and converted it to a rs clone with rs quarter panels, long hood, ducktail, and proper fenders. I also purchased fiberglass rs bumpers from GT racing and now the car is in the paint shop. The painter is not sure how to attach the fiberglass bumpers to the 911 body, so I am trying to research that now as that will need to happen in a few months.
My primary question is determining what hardware is required to bolt the front and rear fiberglass bumpers to the body. Also, if you can point me to a thread or instructions that walks through that process, I'd greatly appreciate it. I see more info on backdating a 74+ 911 car to an RS clone but not finding that much info for attaching the same bumpers to a 72 or 73 911.
When I look at the PET catalog (see pictures below), I find references to various M8 x 22 or 25 bolts and L shaped brackets for the front, and I know there are specific moldings for 73 RS bumpers, however, I don't know if these same bolts and brackets are used to mount the fiberglass bumpers. The factory workshops haven't provided much more detail either.
If anyone has a good handle on the parts needed to mount the bumpers and/or a good instruction on how to do it, I'd greatly appreciate the advice. Thanks.
