I made some Custome FG Flares for my 911

I made new flares for my 911 AX car, to make some space for the big wheels.

I'm using now 16 x 7.5 wheels on front and 17 x 9 wheels at the rear end. I had to lift up the car last year with the 16" wheels to be able to drive with out rubbing. So now I will be able to lower the car down where I had it before with the 15" wheels.

I'm using styrofoam and bondo for the plug.

Here is the next step to complete the plug.

First I taped the Styrofoam before adding Bondo.

Now it get's messy, all this ugly bondo, juck..

More bondo and sanding and more bondo and more sanding, you get the idea, until it looks like I want to.

Now it get ugly again for the molds.

After the molds are done the plugs can come off, and gute nacht to the dump.

OK, so now I have molds.

Continue next post.

Continue:

Now I make the flares.

These flares are just to make space for what I need. These are a lot smaller then turbo or ST flares.

Here are pictures when I test fitted them over the RS rear flares.

Here is a picture of the front flare test fit.

The Front bumper/spoiler need some modification as well.

Here is a picture of the car during the alignment, still with the 16" wheels at the rear end.

Here is the finished product, and I have no rubbing issues like I had last year when I switched from 15 to 16" wheels.

Cheers
Engelbert

Those look really cool and unique. I've done enough 'glass work to appreciate what you have done.

That said, I did my flairs in steel. Less work.

You did a nice job for sure.

I just made these because there wasn't anything available which would fit. However, since I have the molds now, I will think about it.

Cheers
