3.2 floor pan in a 68 912?
Have a 3.2 targa donor with straight floorpans.
Will it fit into a 68 912 without any major issues? Many thanks. Matthew

To clarify, I mean will the floorpans from the 3.2 fit into the 68?
From front footwell to rear floorboards. Across from right sill to left sill.

Matthew I just looked on restoration design and it looks like they are all the same pans.. 911/912 any year. But to be on the safe side I check into it a little more.

all the 911 and 912 chassis are the same .
to set a chassis on the celette frame bench the fixtures are all the same and mounting them to the bench is in the same location . I would post the more detailed chassis measurements for every year 911 but they are on a very large sheet of paper that's 3' by 16" and don't post well at all . |

That is a good question. The section that you mention should fit fine.
However, I ordered the entire pan from Porsche for my 68 911. It includes the front tank support and goes to the front of the trunk. Unfortunately, the part that Porsche sells is for the 993 I believe. I went to clamp and weld it in place, only to discover that the left tank support at the left inner fender was redesigned at some point. It does not mate with the flange at the bottom of the inner fender well, leaving a gap of about 2-3 inches. Now I am going to mount it on a Celette, make sure it is aligned, then will fabricate what I need to span the gap. Not to hijack this thread, but If anyone is aware of a source for the left tank support for the SWB cars, I would appreciate the guidance. |

Thanks Gents for the responses.
Appreciate it. RE: front tank support, try Restoration Design or Sportwagon Echkhart in Germany. IIRC they offer early and later tank supports.

If it is a G50 3.2 it has an additional bump under the shifter that is easily spotted as incorrect for the early car.
I second the frame bench comment, these cars are old and pan replacement is a good time to square everything up as needed on a bench.
