Rusty Battery tray and suspension pan

Hi all,

I have a donor car that I could take a good suspension pan and batter try from to transfer over to the car that needs it. Same make and model 78 sc to 82sc

Is it worth it to try and cut it out of the donor, or should I just by a new suspension pan kit? Roughly $270 for everything pan, cross member support for gas tank and gas tank body seal.

Also, since the car will be an outlaw, no matching numbers I was thinking of putting a longhood on it. If I were to do that, would now be a good time to change the front so it will accept the long hood latch?

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.

Gary

Much easier to get new metal than cut the old one out and apart. Don't forget 2 x front suspension mount reinforcements too. Yes, if you fancy a long hood now would be the time to replace the latch panel as well.

New parts will be much easier to work with and in much better shape. After breaking the spot welds and getting the old part out it will be more pretzel like than pan.
