I have the same mirrors on one of my cars .mine are about 25 plus years old and I'm guessing the bases are the same ? my mirrors have a phillips screw to tighten the ball and socket . you remove the mirror from the car and flip it up side down . you will see the screw between the two mounting holes . the newer ones don't use mounting holes they mount to a bracket you screw into the cars body and then there is a set screw to hold the mirror to the bracket on the car .
the newer style I would guess still has the screw in the same place to tighten the ball and socket ?

Mirror

Mine does not have that screw
There are two small screws to mount the mirror to the plate but no adjusting screw for the ball socket

there should be another tension screw .
the ones for this are in the photos their is the one between the two screws on the base and another one if you look at the screw closes to the ball and socket on the underside of the mirror housing . that is another one .

I sure these like I said are 25 plus years old .
they are the some make and model so I would think they would still have some why the way to tighten the ball and socket ?
they must have a screw to hold the mirror to the base or s way to adjust the ball and socket .
take a photo of the under side and post it .
