battery box 83 911

ok... i'm new here and i think this forum is outstanding !! I'm doing a complete resto on a 83 911 sc. flood car !! OUCH..everything as you can imagine is destroyed... the body fortunately is in excelent condition..with the exception of the driver side where the battery sat for years and of course rotted away... does anyone out here know where the sheet metal can be found to repair this can be located ?? not having much luck here in connecticut..it almost looks like i can drill all the spot welds on the front fuel tank support and remove the whole thing ??? any help would be appreciated .. if i have to fab one up i will but i want to keep it original for re-sale purposes..
Paul

Our host sells the parts - I think both genuine Porsche and Dansk. Check the parts catalog. You can also try Restoration Design, Stoddards. You can also order them from the Porsche Dealer

There are plenty of great reproduction panels available. Many of the parts being sold as orignal porsche parts from the dealer arent that great anyway. Some are made by dansk.

Something like a replacement tank support or battery box (non-original) is not going to hurt the value of the car. Especially considering it's a "flood car". It's never going to be original.

I'd suggest you enjoy the car, for yourself, and stop worrying about resale. Not implying you should cut corners, but it's not going to make a lick of difference in the end. Best to do a proper repair using fresh metal.

Start by checking out Pelican PArts....
