Body parts OEM vs. Dansk Vs. Good Used
What has been your experience with these parts, after nearly 50 years do the 69-73 parts fit like the originals still ? What way would you go.
How about the Dansk ( less expensive ) ? Or do you prefer good used OEM stuff ( getting hard to find). Here is my work it.... or replace it list: Driver Fender - Needs a Headlight bucket, some small prior repairs, but time for the body guys is not as reasonable as it once was. Driver Door Skin - Or could use a whole door, no rust, but a big bowling ball size dent right at the mirrior that would take a lot of time and never be all that great 10 years from now I bet I see the repair. That's been my luck in the past. License plate panel rear - Not awful, just tweaked a bit. 1 Rear bumper the one where the exhaust does NOT exit, I forget which side. Any way this one the lower part either got bumped on something and looks like it could have been dented for dual rear exhaust. I believe just dented, as I have the OEM date coded muffler. Rear Deck Lid - Bought a spare , but needs just a little love, they made a mess pulling off the PORSCHE script and looks to be a a slight hand dent from closing it. Rear Cross member where the lower latch is - Bent down just right of the latch. The story is the original owner had a tree fall in a storm, branches hit the car in a couple spots very hard. That is where the damage to the fender/door and deck lid came from. Got insurance to pay for the repairs in 78, never did it, parked it in the corner of his warehouse thinking he would get around to it. Sold it to a Early S member in 2009 as a project. Who sold it to a friend as a project in 2015, now I have it. No one ever did the DMV stuff, likely a mess, but if I do I would officially be the second owner. |

If Restoration Design makes it; I would use their part first. They make several of the parts you a re looking for. They currently do not make fenders. Dansk fenders are o.k. however if you can find a solid used one, I would recommend that first.
Good luck!
