Engine Compartment question

Inside the engine compartment, what are the three round holes on the side wall for? Looks factory to me. There is also one hole on the driver side.

Not from the factory. Possibly the car had an A/C unit installed. Or could have been to a remote oil filter/cooler plumbed from inside the fan shroud. Maybe they tried it one side first, then the other.

You may be correct about oil cooler use, I thought the same thing. I don't think it was for A/C, no sign of any mounting holes on bottom of dash. I bought this car from a club friend in 2003, he purchased it used in 1965. He never mentioned an external oil cooler or A/C. Unfortunately I cannot ask him because he passed away several years ago.

Is anyone familiar with aftermarket oil coolers that were available in the 60's through 80's?
