Help Identify this Hardtop plz.
So I bought this hardtop in NYC for 600$ it was in the attic of a 4 story building that was being demolished. I thought it would fit my 56' 356 Speedster but I was way off. I cannot figure out what year or vehicle this hardtop is from!? If anyone knows...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614347363.jpg

Look around the edges of the rubber seal, mostly above the door area to see if there is a manufacturer badge with serial #.

Yea I have searched everywhere and nothing. It does have the word SECURIT etched in the glass... but I have dead-ended with it.
|
“Sekurit” essentially means “safety glass.” Not a brand name so no help there.

Replied to your question on the 911 forum. NOT a 356 top.

Try this, OP, as I did when my nosiness/curiosity overwhelmed my common sense as to not spending time on someone else's problem instead of the seemingly insurmountable mountain of my problems.
Viola'... I spent 2 minutes googling european car factory hardtops. First came a Bay M Vay 507 (way cool). Nope, Wrong, totally off. Then I typed in "Renault Caravelle factory hardtop", 'cuz I always liked them aesthetically. Now that looks closer by a bunch. I'm still not 100% certain, but at least you get the idea if you still shive a git about it. Now where do I go to collect the prize money?? :) |
Looking at images of them after Leinberge’s suggestion, I would say that’s exactly what it is; Renault Caravelle hardtop. Probably a rare piece, but when was the last time anyone saw a Caravelle?
