356B solex intake manifold removal

Can Solex intake manifolds be removed with the engine in the vehicle? I am trying to replace gaskets, manifold to head. How are the nuts behind the cylinder cooling tin accessed?

Thanks,

Nathan

You can but probably easier to pull the motor you need to remove all side and rear sheet metal pieces and sparkplugs to get to the nuts.

I got everything back together. My tip is to use some red tacky grease on your finger. The nut for the manifold will stick to your finger enough to get through the spark plug hole in the tin and place the nuts on its stud. A little movement can get the nut to start on it's threads.
