Cardex on 356s
I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some information on how to acquire a Cardex for a 356. Any information about them would be great. Thanks.

To be honest, I don't know if they are worth getting any more.
Price went up to $110 a while ago, and due to privacy laws you may only get a chassis number, color code, engine and transmission numbers. If that. http://www.356registry.org/Tech/kardex.html

I agree that the price is quite steep, but the last few I've gotten had considerably more information, such as build date and options. In fact, the $100 bucks I spent getting the certificate on my 59 S/R saved me from a financial blunder because I was going to sell the car for cheap until I found out that the car originally came with a big gas tank and Super engine among many other desirable options, that were mostly MIA, but still made the car worth more than I thought. I would never sell a car without getting one, because you never know what might show up on that certificate.
