Some good , some bad, and some very ugly

We intend to eventually have the Dr.s 356 dipped but in the meantime I wanted to get a little look under the no longer shiny outer layer. So I bathed it a little chemical stripper.
The good part is that so far I haven't found any significant rust.

All the typical rust areas seem to be clean on the drivers side.
The Bad.
I knew the passenger door had filler in it so I sent the doors out to have them dipped.

Drivers door has the typical rust along lower edge. Not at all bad. I've seen far worse.

The passenger door is a mess. It's been repaired using the drill and pull method. This door had really been hurt at one time.
The ugly.
I'm starting to find evidence of some front end damage.

I don't know how involved it is. I'll have to strip further to find out.

DO NOT DIP THIS CAR!

You're in for some big trouble if you dip this car. PLEASE don't dip the car. Continue on what you're doing...its the right way. Dipping the car will ruin it. Chemicals will get caught in all the nooks and crannies and will never go away. Believe me, we tried this in the seventies when it was acceptable. Don't do it, you'll be sorry.

Kevin:

How about an update? How is your "un-peeling" progressing?
