Porsche Crest interior question...

Hello,
I'm restoring a 63, 356 coupe and have a question about the bent tube held in place by the two rubber connectors that straddles the rear of the interior. Does the headliner attach to the tube or does the rear upholstered panel?
It has holes in it that look like they once held carpet tacks or something similar.
Thank you,
Chas.

Chas, I believe you are describing the rear window defroster tube. That might answer your questions.

Jump,
Interesting, so nothing is attached to the tube? and I take it that hot air passes through it and the holes to defrost the rear window....
Thank you,
Chas.
