356 Voltage Conversion

I just aquired a '65 356 SC from an original owner. The car hasn't been moved in 25 years. The engine is in pieces but according to the prvious owner all there. Overall, its a real solid car with zero rust. My question is, should I convert the electrical system to 12 volts? if so, how difficult is it? Should I do it before or after reinstalling the motor?

Get a copy of the 356 Porsche Technical and Restoration Guide published by Beeman Jorgensen, Inc in Indianapolis. It is a compilation of past articles from the 356 Registry. My copy has a 6 article collection on 12 volt conversion and the advantages/disadvantages of the same.
