Oh Type!!!!!!!!!!

Slate grey w/ red interior, low sitting.......YOWSA BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

TC/TeamEvil 02-03-2007 08:01 AM

Any more wonderful pics of #13, or anything like it?

These Outlaws are really beautiful cars ! !

TC/TeamEvil 02-21-2007 06:33 AM

Does any know the modern color equivalent of Slate Grey and Dove Grey?

Either the color name(s) or the code/car manufacturer that uses similar colors to those two?

That Outlaw just looks SO beautiful that I'd love to try that color (or Dove Grey) on my coupe.

Thanks !

TC

My car is pretty original, but I love Outlaw 356's. What type are you thinking of?

A retro race outlaw, sympathetically uprating everything on the car, finished off with a classic race car colour scheme?

http://www.356porsche.co.uk/orangeoutlaw.jpg

Or, a what's the most powerful of everything I can squeeze in a 356 and still keep it on the road/track?

Either way, very interested to see how it goes.

Hotrodding a 356

Finally..... paint is on the car. I have to have this ready for Autos International by May 14th. In the picture is Larry, the painter from Highfill's Auto Body, Seal Rock, Oregon.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1177986929.jpg

Pushrod "Carrera" exhaust

Does anyone know of a source of "Carrera" style, i.e. exhausts that exit in the middle apart from the ones from Karmann Connection in the UK?

I've got a TON of pictures of that project... but I should probably get permission before I post any. Lex may want to keep it a secret until it's done :)

Definetly going to be a WILD ride when it's done.

For those looking for pics of 356 Outlaws, I compiled >these< a while back (many linked from our host's pages).

Holy Toledo......................Now that's going to far. Once you go to a tube frame on a 356 body, you might as well put on a fiberglass kit on the frame. They make a 356 A Coupe kit car now.
I think my 356 A outlaw with the 911 engine, 915 gearbox and IRS is a bit to far, but still has all the orignal floor and main unified chassis intact.
kcpaz, That will be a very fast car. More pictures please.

mjshira 05-22-2007 09:25 AM

better put some wheelie bars on that thing!!!

This car is still in it's infant stages. Obviously there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to make is look like 356 again. Even though it has a tube chassis structure, it will still be very much a steel bodied 356. The frame rails will be hidden inside stock style rockers, and a custom tunnel will be fabbed to fit on top of stock style floor pans. THe sheet metal was sourced from Restoration Design. A lot of care will be taken to make sure it's a few steps above being a "kit car".

I am a fabricator at Patrick Motorsports. I designed and built the chassis myself... but of course, the entire project will be a collaboration of all of the talented people who work there. It's a 3.6 v-ram engine, 915 trans, rack and pinion steering, and C2 brakes (if I remember correctly). I'll post some more pictures later.

I would love to build something like Kcpaz is doing in the future. But like you suggested on a fiber body base. You know where you can get the body ?

Also would it be too much to build a mid-engined 356 ? use the 914 setup with a 2.0 liter 911. Purists forgive me :)

I don't think there is enough room inside the car..... unless the driver is only 4 foot tall :)

Dutchie 05-23-2007 06:50 AM

6,2 here :D thanks for clearing that up ! can,t wait so see your car done.

kcpaz 05-23-2007 06:50 AM
