Can anyone identify this headlight?

Can anyone identify this headlight? It doesn't look like any in the parts books...

From a B car, European IIRC, has the parking light in the housing... lots of info on 'em has been posted to 356talk over the years, if you are a Registry member they have a fully searchable archive (better than the one I used to maintain)

They are Bosch units; what drew my attention wasn't the turn signal/parking lamp bulb, but the very funky reflectors used. The right side (not shown) has H1 bulbs for both low and high beams.

Yes - Bosch Euro H1's. fairly rare, nowadays and all. I recently purchased a pair, not telling you what I paid but if you search the 911 threads you can probably find out...

I have had 6V H1's in the (long ago) past but I have no doubt they're still available in some wattage. (check your generator output before deciding the 100W flamethrowers are a good idea...)

Available with different lens arrangements to suit 911 and 356. Interestingly, mine came with 356 lens assemblies (probably not correct for a '53 but I am beyond caring...) but I am given to understand the lens assemblies are interchangeable with the Euro H4's - which are currently installed on the 911...

so - I move the H4's to the 356, the H1's to the 911 (with Xenon bulbs in both Hi and Lo beam positions) and - can you say "darkness is not a factor" ?
