AC Wiring Help / Advice

AC evaporator blower stopped working on my 82 SC with pure stock AC stsem. No blown fuses but I found one that showed evidence of high current and heat. This turned out to be part of the problem - fuse holder spring lost it's temper due to heat and some evidence of melted wire insulation and previous repairs. One wire is red with white stripe and one red with green stripe. Checked the diagrams and one is the evap blower and the other the front condenser motor. Ammeter shows evap motor drawing 11 amps and condenser motor drawing about 4. I think the fuse is designed to be 20 amp but it has a 25 cast into the back of it. So I need to fix the damaged fuse holder and wire but what to do past that.? Interestingly the wire feeding that fuse (from the top) looks fine.

ANY ADVICE?

KW

Unless you can replace the copper fuse contacts or the entire fuse block, I advise you put an in line fuse holder in place of the fuse block. If the previous splice in the secondary wire is not a good one, it is exacerbating the problem which is high current draw through that fuse.
If the fuse serves two devices via two wires into the fuse block, I advise you Y the feed at the fuse block, add two in line fuses of appropriate current capacity.
