356b matching numbers??

Greetings,

I am interested in buying a 1963 356b T6 but kind of worried about the engine. the car serial # is 212768 and the motor # is 73965. Do these match and if not what do I have to watch out for? thanks for the input!

I'm no 356 expert, but it doesn't appear to match:
Search by chassis number

If you go back to the original screen of Porsche serial numbers start page there's a lot of information available on that site.

Thanks for the web page. Anyone have any experience with these older engines(59) fitted in a 1963 B coupe?? Something I should look for.

A engine

You shouldn't have any technical issues that were not resolved when the engine was installed, but the non-matching thing will cost you down the road.
