WTB: Kendon Dealer plate frame and where is this 356?

I need a Kendon Porsche+Audi plate frame (Wilmington CA Harbor Cities Porsche dealer) from the 70's I know my 74 914 came from there, If you have any pictures of the dealership or plate frames I would love to see them.

Thanks !
Pete

BTW: The orig owner of the blue 1960 356 1600 Normal in these photos is looking for leads on where the car is today and the possible repurchase of the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd love to have a plate also. I bought my 66 911 from Kendon in 1967, when I was 18. It was a really low key place. Sold way more VWs than Porsche's naturally, but I remember hanging out in the shop and they were always preping a car for POC events. Which led me to joining POC in 1968.

I thought it was a Pep Boys and some drug store, CVS or Walgreens! Lived in San Pedro/ Rancho PV....born in Wilmington!

The other "hot shop" back then was Lomita 911 on Western.

Wish I had taken pics back then.

I've had several 356s over the years and that one you have posted really looks familiar. Have you asked about this on 356 registry?

I did a drive by an a Google maps based on an address I found in my owners manual and it is a dirt lot near The 110 that shows up. Next to what was the old Honda dealer now gone for a few years.

I am not a member on the 356 Registry can post there for free like the Pelican unfortunately.

Wow....bringing back a lot of memories.
The original Kendon was at the corner of PCH and Normandie. In late 69 ( I think) they moved down next to the Harbor Fwy, nextdoor to Gledhill Chevrolet. When Kendon closed it became a Honda dealer, or maybe something else before Honda went in. It had to be 69 because I remember going to the new store and driving the first 70 914-6 that came into the LA area and Kendon got one before Vasek.
In the late 60s to early 70s all the Porsches came in through the docks in Wilmington and there was a huge staging lot on Willow that would hold hundreds of Porsches until they were sent out to the dealers. You probably know that area is now known as the "3rd world". No mans land. My friend that is a LAPD Harbor Division Captain said they usually don't respond to calls after dark in that area. It can wait until morning!
