Hello anyone know the size of a repair helicoil or timesert to repair the threads for the banjo bolt which threads into the top of a zenith carburator or if you have two I will buy them. The threads are bad in the top of the carb. Thanks, Steve

I believe it is 12X1.5. Make sure you drill deep enough (carefully--too far and you will hole through top) for helicoil tap (since it is tapered). Even then you might have to trim a coil or two. You have to make sure coil is not in too far on the tapered area so that banjo bolt will bind and not go in far enough. If it is in too far, simply grab the end of coil and pull out gently unwinding coil. restart with new coil.

no access to a zenith, but the solex is 1/2 x 20. i believe this is npt. take the bolt to a home improvement or auto parts store and check it with the the thread gauge. it may be a npt rather than metric size.
