1952 356 Coupe w/ US steering...
I work at an auction and am a Porsche freak, so a guy came in today and told me about a car he knows of that is for sale. Said it is a 52 356 Carrera prototype... with US steering. I know 911s, not 356s. He said this is the same car the Jay Leno just purchased and that there were only 12 made. I don't know, but was sure that you guys would. They want $120,000 for it. Anyone have some info??

Wayne- they want me to go look at it... I just wanted to know if I was wasting my time. I can go and take a couple digital photos, but I don't have an extra $120,000 this week and the car is an hour away.... so it would have to be something that someone would *really* want me to do.... or I could pass on the info

If it was $12K, I'd say jump on it. Might be worth it, but neither you or I have $120K...

'52 carrera prototype ?
hoping this hasn't already been pointed out, we need the serial number of the car. a '52 cab might bring $30-50K depending...
but unless i'm missing something, the Carrera engine wasn't used until '54 & that was only in a Werks 550 Spyder. pretty sure they weren't available in street trip until '55 or '56. hope this helps. cheers jerry |
