Who rebuilds 356 heads?

I'd prefer to keep mine with the engine vs exchanging them for another set, since I know the provenance and history of these.

It's a 1964 356C.

Last time they were rebuilt, the machinist said the cups on the rocker arms looked worn, so they probably need to be welded and reground. There's also a nick in one of the domes, where it swallowed a ring (luckily it made it all the way out the exhaust!) so that'll need to be welded too.

It's been many miles since everything's been rebuilt, so I'd like to have everything done, new valves, guides, springs, etc.

I'm in Los Angeles, but I don't have a problem shipping so long as the shop is competent and held in high regard.

I'd hate to send them to just anybody, and prefer the job not be a VWs shops first attempt at machining Porsche heads.

Take the time to join the 356 registry forum. Well worth the time it. There are numerous places that can do that work for you. Several in Southern Cal.
