seat belts
Hi
I am looking to finish my interior in my '68 targa, the last thing I need to complete is the seat belts. I am looking for someone to redo the webbing or the "belt". The buckle an mounts are good I just need someone to sew new webbing on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim |

You will have a hard time finding this service, most companies are worried about liability - and in my opinion the ones that aren't may not be competent enough to make safe belts.
Force on belts in a collision are immense - I just received seat belts from Tweeks today for my 66' 912. They look pretty good, although they are not identical to factory. The most obvious difference is the improved webbing (wrong appearance completely, looks the same as my Jaguar). $33.50 /seat The other alternative is get the yellow pages, look for aviation supplies - and service. They may rebuild them (again - not likely). Good luck - the Tweeks belts go in mine tommorow, one nice point about these is they just clide on to the eye bolts like the old ones - no harm to the car. |

Good original belts are hard to find, and even slightly dangerous. The newer belts, although not original, are much better and stronger. We have a price on the same set of belts that's lower than Tweeks, if you're interested...
