Horsepower in a 616/2 T2 1600S
Hi
Whats the horsepower in a 616/2 T2 1600S engine ? I'm looking at a 912 which has one of these engines, is this a better engine than a standard 1967 912 engine ? Thanks Sean |

The 616/2 engine first appeared in 1957 and was discontinued in 1961. It was known as a "1600 Super", and had 75 DIN HP. Not exactly the peak of 616 design, or HP, and couldn't be directly installed in a 912 chassis without timing cover modifications for the mounts.

The 912 engine is basically the same as the SC engine, so 90-95hp. vs the 75 of the C or S engine.
