Fairly recent purchase.
Non numbers matching mystery engine, so I am not worried about originality.
Want comfort, safety, and a little style.

Installed IMO nicer looking fuchs with new rubber.
Rebuilt brakes and installed new rubber brake lines.
Still considering dual circuit master cylinder????
Also bought heater boxes and will install hopefully SOON!!

Already purchased front and rear window trim.
This winter plan on pulling door window frame and rear quarter window and refinishing back to bright.

But...
Are the circles with numbers on the door so yesterday?
No "Porsche" script on the rear, how about vinyl graphic "Porsche"
Stripes?
Bumpers? Should have arrived mooooonths ago, but still not here!! :( Do I put them on if they ever get here?
Any other suggestions?

Just a heads up. The front/rear WS trim will be too long and the ends will likely need to be trimmed to fit. Can be a pain and trial and error. Trim, try to install, window won't fit. Repeat til it does. Car looks great. Why try to correct perfection? Dual master cylinder great upgrade.

Engine looks like a C with Zeniths (but not correct air cleaners). Has a 912 oil filler can and is missing the lower heater flapper boxes.
The engine serial number on the third piece of the case is just above the lower pulley. The engine type (616/??) is on the passenger side of the case half bolt flange below the oil filter (kind of behind the lower hose coming from the bottom of the filter to the top of the case). Those two numbers will tell you the vintage of the engine (age and approx HP) based on available spec sheets.

The engine looks very similar to my 64 C, including the mech tach... but different generator and coil... With the VIN and engine # you can learn a lot of stuff about the car.

I would lower it some, put nerf bars instead of bumpers and leave it just white and black - no chrome. I guess the ****s are 5.5/6" wide, right? If not, you should go that route for stance and handling with at least 195 wide tires. M2c

Unfortunately there are no numbers on the engine, it is an unstamped case. I think sort of a mutt.
She runs out pretty good and has good leakdown numbers, so I will just enjoy her and not worry too much.
Purchased heater boxes from Gunter356. Very nice guy to deal with. Been too cold to install. Oh the irony!
Fuchs are 15x6's with 185/60s. Speedo is almost dead on.

Lower the front it's very easy to do. Yes to dual master. I went with discs up front. Stops like a modern car. I also went with a tall 4th gear from Vic Skirmants. Lowers rpm in 4th about 300 at 75. 123 vacuum ignition. No more points and adjustable advances. Deep sump oil with drain in pan. Shift bushings, replace torsion tube bushings.

me, I am not too much about vamping an original looking car, more about stance, wheels and originality. But I do like a car to look cool, stop well and sound nice.

I have left my Miss Daisy almost all original, which is how I found her, sure she could use a paint, but since it is the original for the most part I don't want to touch her. I just appreciate what she looks like.

Where did you find the Fuchs wheels?
