Brian Long's The Book of the Porsche 356 says 25 Speedsters made in '59
I just got around to reading this book and that line jumped out at me, on page 112
where he writes "a little known fact is that 25 1600GT Carrera speedsters were built in 1959 and sold to selected customers solely for racing." Just before that he says in August '58 Porsche dropped Speedster production to make the Convertible D. I was wondering if Long's statement has been supported by 356 owners since, and if there are SN of the 25, and if these cars are worth more than other Speedsters since they were built after the normal time sequence. |

Porsche has been known to do this - there were 10 356 SC cabriolets made in '66 to complete a contract for some police cars (Dutch? IIRC)

Speedsters
Were they normal vins with five digits, or the special conversion/rebody/skunk vins with four digits?
