Porsche 904GTS barn find in 2006
I ran across this picture on the net, from 2006 on the website of Sports Car Market, accompanied by a letter written by a foreign man (letter below). He doesn't say how the car was found or what it sold for, I was wondering if nay 904 buffs can tell us more...
----------------------------------(his letter quoted) Hello My name is Mario Montanaro, and I am a car specialist of Osenat auction house in Fontainebleau near Paris-France. I am pleased to inform you about a very interesting “barn find” for the next Osenat auction 2 July 2006 : a fantastic 1964 Porsche 904 GTS all original car sold new in 1964 to Werner Brockhaus same French owner since 1968 dry stored since 1973 this very important car has the following chassis number : 904 / 030 this is probably the most important car discovered by Osenat auction house! Very cool. In 2006, I would be guessing about $350-$500K depending upon the overall condition. They weren't super-duper expensive (just plain vanilla expensive) back then.
