Just brought home my first 356 October 1955

It’s a monster project but atleast it’s something to look at for now.Any info on it or advise I’m all ears. Thx Bryce (Texas vintage vdubs)

awesome! I would seriously consider just putting it back together and see if you can drive it with the body just like that. It looks cool.

slippery slope if you start the restoration. 100k is gone in a flash when you do it right. Cool find!

If you haven't already done so - join the 356 Registry. Also, there are quite a few books that are wonderful resources in restoring and maintaining these cars. It probably wouldn't hurt to also join the local sub-356 Registry gruppe and get to know some of the members who might also be of some help. Here in Florida it's F.O.G. (Florida Owner's Gruppe).

A labor of love......that's for sure!!! Good luck and KTF!

This is excellent advice. I would add $100K and several years. If you drive it as soon as possible, you'll have some good feelings to sustain you when you are faced with the inevitable aggravation and expense of a full restoration.
