1954 356 Pre A Door shell question

I am in the process of restoring a 1954 Pre A 356. I am beginning the disassembly process so the entire body can be media blasted.

When i removed and disassembled the doors, i noticed a difference in the door shells.

The left door had a bolted in panel where the inner latch and window regulator mounted. On the right door shell, this panel was actually spot welded.

The production date is March, 1954. Any chance this is just a mid-year change or is it more likely the right door had been replaced?

Any information would be appreciated. I will also post in the 356 Registry.

PS...If anyone has correct year wheels, please contact me. I have mismatched wheels on the car and will be listing the ones i have on the forum. They are already sandblasted and epoxy primed.
