Are any Spacer or something needed to phase a 2.4t engine?

Hi all,

My mechanic has replaced a an exhaust valve from cyl 5th.
He now is in late because he 's waiting (he told me) for a set of spacers to complete the engine timing check.
I' ve never heard that 2.4 T engine need spacer for correctly timing the engine.

Can you please comment?

I suspect he is lying.

P. S. Cylinders are mounted, cam tower is mounted, and the mechanical chain tensioner has been rebuilt but still not mounted.

I'm not sure. Some people use special tools.

It isn't clear to me that he is trying to screw you, as he has assembled the engine and you have seen it. I do know that we do this for enjoyment, and getting worked up on suspicions will not help you to enjoy your ownership experience. More experienced people will chime in I'm sure, but most things worth having are worth waiting for.

Daniel thanks for your reply.
He isn't using Stomsky hardware but the original Porsche tools

I totally agree with you... But 3 months to replace a valve seems excessive to me.

Tensioner spacers maybe.
