After languishing for 8 years, the car is going back together

Last ran the car on the track in 2010. Tore it down to almost the bare shell to convert to coilovers, cage, 930 body, 3.6 conversion. As often happens raising a family and running a business, life got in the way. This past winter my wonderful wife told me I could take over half the garage and kicked my butt to get the car rebuild going. Still only limited time occasional weekends but things are progressing.

Spent quite a bit of time this winter getting the body work done- sunroof gone, frp roof skin, 930 front fenders and rear flares. Went to the painter in April for full spray in Glacier White to better work with Martini tribute graphics than the original Grand Prix white. Now working on the front Setrab cooler ducting. And building the engine.

Started out like this

Yesterday after Martini tribute graphics

Absolutely right! Today’s our anniversary, but since it’s also Fathers Day she said I can have the day to work on the car, just be cleaned up for dinner out with our girls tonight. I’m a very lucky guy!

I picked up the roof skin 7 or 8 years ago from Jeff Alton who as I recall bought it for a project but never used it. But now Helion in Michigan is making really nice ones in carbon fiber, you can find his posts on this forum.

One more pic, as you can tell by the lack of lights that I’m just starting the reassembly of the body. I like this view

More work done, putting the car back together slowly.
My wife jumped in to help, replacing bulbs in the 3rd brake light, cleaning the windows- clearly not an easy job with all the cage tubes- and touching up the paint on the cage.
