Rear sway bar bushing?

I replaced my rear sway bar bushings on my 1973 911. what is the trick to getting the upper link back in the ball?

The upper link is a ball and socket type.

I replaced my bushings on my 73 as well recently. If you mastered putting in the bushing into the link (grease and brut force) then getting the cup on the ball once the links are on the sway bar is just as tough! GO SLOWLY...............

What I did was use a pry bar. I placed white lithium grease in the cup set the cup against the metal ball, looked at that funky angle and used the pry bar pushing up hard with the bar against the
suspension unit. I had to use a rubber mallet on one side. If the car was on a lift the angle of attack would be excellent, but I worked from the tire well.

Once the cup is over the ball, its not going anywhere! Keep at it, you'll get it.

Yeah i tried the c clamp but unfortunately too small.
I tried prying it against the suspension w/prybar but can not seem to get it in.

Ill keep trying.

Go get a bigger C-clamp ;)

Dow Corning 4, 11, 111, or 112 Silicone Grease in the socket ... warm the Nylon link inserts with a heat-shrink gun or hair dryer for three- four minutes before trying to get them on the ball astuds.
