Whahooo, car is back!

Finally! It's been 8 long weeks and I am glad to have her back home. The front passenger side was crunched up in an accident this past December. While they were at it, I had the shop add this new valance and Carrera fog lights. The hood, both fenders, bumber, and valance were all re-done or replaced. Also new lenses and rubber in the front.

I'd like to thank Paul Sopp (PBS911) for a killer deal on the donor hood, Kevin at AIR (KevinP73) for helping to coordinate the repairs with EPR collision and painting my new ducktail, and to the rest of you who have provided kind words throughout this ordeal. A special thanks as well to Harold van Deinse (Harold_89_911) for letting me drive his car for a while on SBR1 to get me over the hump!

The shop did a pretty good job, but honestly, after 8 weeks I expected perfection. Alignment is still way off, I fear a bent spindle. Replaced an H4 lense with OEM, Speedo not working (odd), and a few ugly fish eyes. All in all I am happy and really like the new look. I think it will look especially nice with the ducktail and twin tip sport muffler

Here's a pic, more to come at completion of project!

Brad, congrats. The car looks great, and a good choice on the front valance. Glad the see my old hood finally found a good home. You were starting to worry me - you looked a little to comfortable in the mini-van.

Thanks Bob. I got the valance from Better Bodies Motorsports.

http://www.betterbodiesmotorsport.com/interiors/fbumpers1/930sfs1930sfs1.html

The finish seemed to be pretty good and the installer didn't complain too much about the fit. It lines up real well with the fenders and bumper. I have about 4" of clearance behind the opening for an oil cooler.

Here's another pic...

Ummm, it's bad enough that I don't want to let go of the wheel too long at speed

The shop put her on the rack so I know the pan is straight and it went in for new tires and an alignment.

I do not know if they can align the car to compensate for something that's *bent*.......anyone?

Does the valance curve upwards to meet the fender, or is that just an extension between the accordian and the wheel well?

Brad,

One more question, did you have to go with the Carrera fogs, or would the SC fogs work?

Cheers and good luck on the alignment

Crashr-

Yes, it's part of the valance. It actually fits really well.

Stealthn -

Had to go with the Carrera fogs due to differences in mounting.
You could probably fabricate a bracket of some sort, though.

Eric, here's a pic of the car when I bought it a year and a half ago. It's been lowered too.

Dennis, yep, that's the one.

Dan and Bob, I'm ready for a drive any time I'll need one soon, I have both kids, including a 4 month old for the next 4 days while wifey is hanging out in Vegas with a girlfriend.

Yeah, I am sure that's confusing. They are/were not the *real* H4's, but the H4 (non-DOT approved) lamps which fit into the stock assembly and stock ring. I used those with PIAA bulbs and got a nice, non obnoxious beam.
