Looks like it's just something to pry against without buggering up the car. The pry bar is a clue.

It clamps down on the torsion bar itself and allows you to pry against the wooden surface when the spring clamp assembly won't separate from the bar.

It’s exactly what I need as mine are not coming out.
Need to figure out the length of the screws and cutouts.

Very common for the torsion bar to be stuck in the trailing arm. Just drill a hole in the center of the cover. Then you can knock the torsion bar out with a drift. Fill the hole with a dab of black dilicone when done, until the next time you need to use it. If needed, you can easily pry out the entire circular cover too, once you have the hole in the center. It is only a light press fit into the trailing arm hub.

If you grease the splines, it will come apart easily next time.

Great suggestions. Thank you.
Since I couldn’t remove last one I left it on a height that I find too low, next inner spline was too high. I need the other spline turn which I will attempt over the winter as I need another alignment. For now let it bounce. ![]()
